Traveling To Bali

Airport

Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) is the only airport in Bali

Visa + Customs

You will need a visa to enter Bali. Having an E-Visa On Arrival will make your life much easier at the airport. You can apply for E-Visa on Arrival 14 days before you arrive. We also have a hack for customs so that your airport experience is seamless.

Cash

Cash is a common form of payment for renting scooters, beach access, Gojek or Grab (their version of Uber or Lyft). When you get to the airport, stop by one of the ATM’s to get out cash.

Transport

Arrival: Your hotel or Airbnb usually offers airport transfer. That is the easiest option. If they don’t then you can use their version of Uber or Lyft which is called Gojek or Grab. Download these + get them set up before coming. Grab is the only option at the airport.

Getting Around: You will be able to arrange a scooter rental at your lodging. If scootering is too much, it’s very cheap + quick to use Gojek or Grab to get around. If you are going to scooter then remember, left hand-side of the road, people will drive on the opposite side of the road to pass, honking is a friendly I’m here, and you probably won’t see a stop sign or stop light. It’s called the Bali Slow Creep, just follow a local and you’ll be good.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp is the most common form of communication in Bali. You will use this to communicate with your airbnb, booking anything (massages, restaurants, etc.). Download this and have it set up before you come!

What to Pack

Bali is the land of unpredictability, but the good news is that the temperature is always warm. You won’t need a jacket – just a rain poncho that you can get at mini mart here. Here is an extensive list of what to pack based on our schedule as well as some Bali essentials.
